Suwa Shrine

Niigata Prefecture

Hello there! I visited Suwa Shrine in Shibata city, Niigata prefecture 😀

I will upload the pictures of a few of the subordinate shrines on the premises as well.

The date was September 7, 2024, cloudy and somewhat hot.

All right, I will start with some of the pictures of Suwa Shrine, the Shibata General Tutelary Shrine.

When you go through the entrance and walk a little, you will see a Chouzuya, where you cleanse your hands and mouth.

This is Mikoshi Hall. The mikoshi dedicated to this hall was built in the Edo period.

This is one of the subordinate shrines here called Inari Shrine.

Ukanomitama no Mikoto, a deity of huge harvest and business prosperity, is enshrined.

This is also one of the subordinate shrines here called Isoshirei Shrine. The enshrined deities are those who contributed themselves to Shibata Domain.

Ootake Yomoshichi, the village head, is enshrined together as a God of Fire Prevention.
