Hello everyone! I spent some time at Echigo Tainai Kannon in Tainai city, Niigata prefecture.
I took advantage of this opportunity to stop by because it was located right next to Tarugahashi Zoo park, where I visited on the same day.
It was September 12th, 2024, cloudy and a bit hot.
Well then, I will gradually introduce you to what it is like 😀
Firstly, this is a picture of Niōden Gate.
The huge temple gate at the entrance is called Niōden Gate, where two Niō statues are stored; one is on the right, and the other is on the left. It is said that when you go through the gate, your soul will be cleansed.
I found a chōzuya and a tiny temple next to Niōden Gate.
This is Echigo Tainai Kannon, a.k.a Surfing Kannon.
The name originated from the fact that the way it stands on the eight-petalled lotus seat looks like it is surfing.
After taking a look at the bronze statue, I walked down the stairs and headed to Kirinden Hall, which is around the chōzuya.
