Nakayama Shrine

Cedars

Hello there! This time I visited Nakayama Shrine in Hashida, Gosen city, Niigata prefecture, Japan 🙂

The date was on October 21st, 2024, sunny and the temperature was just right.

You will see the main shrine stand after you go through its south-facing torii gate and walk up the stone stairs with 250 steps.

All right, so I am going to share tons of pictures little by little.

First off, the pictures of the torii gate.

The chōzubachi that I found on my way to the main shrine.

Next up, the selected tree for a famous and giant tree in Gosen city.

It is 34 meters tall and the circumference of the trunk at eye level is 5.5 meters.

Walking up the stone stairs, you will see a set of guardian dogs and the worship hall, but before that, I am going to share with you the pictures of Tenjingū Shrine facing southwest to the worship hall.

Here are the other shrines on the grounds of this shrine facing southeast to the worship hall: Shinmei Shrine, Suwa Shrine, Inari Shrine, Hachiman Shrine, Masumi Shrine and Suga Shrine.

This is the worship hall with artworks carved by Ishikawa Unchō.

Its enshrined gods are Ōnamuchi no Mikoto, Sukunahikona no Mikoto and Ōyamakuhi no Mikoto.

I am going to wrap up this blog by uploading the rest of the pictures.

See you next time. Have a peaceful day ( ^^) _U~~
