Midama Fudōson Temple

Clear Waters

Hello there! I visited Midama Fudōson Temple, which sits in Tsunanmachi, Nakauonuma-gun, Niigata prefecture, Japan 🙂

It was on November 24th, 2024. Rainy, cloudy and cold enough for me to feel like winter.

It is a temple of the Tendai Sect known for its miraculous powers when it comes to eye trouble, and every year many people visit it.

There are stairs with 70 steps in the approach to the temple along with a waterfall, and the main hall stands after the stairs of stone.

No more introduction and let me move on to sharing the pictures inside the temple grounds.

Some of them look blurry but hope you don’t mind.

First off, this is Daikokuden Hall on the left side of its Torii Gate.

Here is the statue of Konpon Dengyō Daishi set up next to Daikokuden Hall.

Furthermore, these Jizō statues stand next to it: Migiwa Jizō, Apotropaic Jizō Against Dementia and Rokujizō.

At the entrance of the approach to the temple lies Niōmon Gate, and on each of the Kongō seats Kongō Rikishi Statues are placed.

Going through the gate and walking up the stone stairs a little, you will see Life-extention Water on your right, where you could quench your thirst.

After walking up the stairs and turning left, you will notice Fudō-dō (Main Hall) stand in front of you.

Next to the main hall, Jūnishi Mamori Honzon (Principal Guardian Images of the Twelve Signs of the Chinese Zodiac) are placed.

This is Shōhōin, which stands right next to Daikokuden Hall.

Unfortunately, I forgot to take pictures from the front, but at least I got one taken from the side, so I hope you let it slide.

Uploading the rest of the photos inside the temple grounds, I will wrap up my blog for today.

See you next time! Have a wonderful day (^^♪
