Hi guys!
I drove to Nishikan-ku, Niigata city, Niigata prefecture, Japan to see this waterfall called “Gorin Waterfall.” 😀
It was on Jan. 13, 2025. The weather was cloudy, and it had some snow piled up.
It has a parking capacity of about 4~5, but to my surprise, it was full to capacity, so I had to wait for a while nearby.
Maybe because people for climbing Mt. Kakuda awaited this lull in the rain as well.
Well then, before sharing my pictures of the waterfall, I am going to share Gorin Stone, on which Matsuo Bashō, a Japanese Haiku poet, and his suite sat down.
This was the main purpose of my visit: Gorin Waterfall!
It was extremely slippery because of the snow, so I refrained from taking better pictures from better angles.
Here are the rest of my photos, taken between the parking lot and the waterfall, approximately 200 meters away from each other.
It felt particularly beautiful seeing the waterfall in this snow as far as eye could see.
I did not expect there would be a waterfall in a residential area, though. Was a bit of a surprise.
All right, that’s it for today’s blog.
I will write another one when I go out.
Have a brilliant day (^^)/
