Hello hello! What’s up?
I drove to Lake Hyōko, which is located in Suibara, Agano city, Niigata prefecture, Japan, and took a look at water birds 😀
It was on February 12, 2025. Being cloudy but not THAT cold, imo.
Actually, I went there last early summer and autumn as well. The transition of the seasons shows us different scenery and atmosphere, which makes me want to go there over and over again.
Lake Hyōko is one of the registered sites for the Ramsar Convention, where a wide variety of water birds migrate such as whooper swans, tundra swans, mallards and northern pintails, and you get to observe those waterfowls at a close distance from them.
Well then, I am going to first share two pictures each of the last early summer and autumn, and then the pics taken in February, 2025.
For starters, this is what Lake Hyōko looked like last early summer.

This was the Iris Garden inside Hyōko Suikin Park last early summer.

Next up is Lake Hyōko last autumn

The Iris Garden inside Hyōko Suikin Park last autumn.

From here on, all these pics are the ones taken in February, 2025.
You can see the waterfowls in the lake and the trees without leaves. Moreover, there is a pile of snow, which makes it look all the more wintery.
Here are the ones of the Peafowl Aviary inside Hyōko Suikin Park.
I could barely see the peafowls through the fence; confirmed there were both male and female ones.
With the rest of these pictures, that’s it for today’s blog.
Maybe I will go visit it again when irises come into bloom.
All right, until next time. Wishing you a peaceful day (@^^)/~~~
