I visited Northern Culture Museum, which is situated in Niigata city, Niigata prefecture, Japan, and viewed illuminated wisteria😄
It was on May 6th, 2025. Sunny.
The former large residence of the Ito’s, a wealthy farmer in Echigo(the current Niigata prefecture), is open to the public, and this time I spent some time viewing its illuminated great wisteria pergola and Hattōen Garden, so I am going to share with you guys some of the pics I took there.
Great Wisteria Pergola
Giving off such a sweet fragrance that the illuminated flowers in its distinct color were more than fantastic.
Hattōen Garden
There are several wisteria pergolas in as many colors including white, purple and pink, and they make a key-shaped garden.
Others
It was so packed around the parking lots; an estimated 1000 or more people were visiting the residence.
Lastly
「Northern Culture Museum – Wealthy Farmer’s Residence」 is said to be a motif of Ubuyashiki Residence from Demon Slayer.
Aside from whether it is true or not, wisteria has a sweet fragrance and some indescribable attraction.
The 8th landlord Itō Bunkichi loved wisteria, and I am happy viewing it this year, too!
