I went to see a natural monument, Shogun Cedar, located in Higashi Kanbaragun, Niigata prefecture.
It was Just 1st, 2024. It was sunny and a bit hot. Just wearing a t-shirt should be fine.
Shogun Cedar is the largest tree in Japan. Its presence had plenty of punch when I actually viewed it. It is 1400 years old, 40 meters in height and the circumference of the tree trunk is over 19 meters.
The central part was lost due to Muroto Typhoon in 1961.
I will call it a day by uploading some pictures around the cedar.
