Ryūgakubo Pond

Clear Waters

Hello there! This time I went to Ryūgakubo Pond located in Tsunanmachi, Nakauonuma-gun, Niigata prefecture, Japan 🙂

It was on October 26th, 2024, cloudy and a bit chilly.

Ryūgakubo Pond was designated as a natural monument to scenic beauty by Tsunanmachi in 1972, and selected as one of the top 100 clear waters in Japan by the former Environment Agency (the current Ministry of Environment) in 1984.

Its pond in emerald green has a godly aura and the reflection of the trees on the surface of the water also has an exquisite feel, so that is why I would like to recommend this spot for sightseeing.

On the premises, there are two shrines as well and I am going to share them all.

First of all, the pictures of Ryūgakubo Pond.

Next up is the torii gate belonging to Ryūtamiya Shrine, Ryūtamiya Shrine, and the stone monument with the words “Eight Dragon King God” carved.

This is Ryūgakubo Shrine. On the left side of the stairs is the water place, and on the right side is the amulet place.

I am going to call it a day with these photos.

Hope you have a peaceful day ( ^^) _U~~
