Itayama Fudōson

Hello there! This time I visited Itayama Fudōson, which is one of the cultural properties designated by Joetsu city, Niigata prefecture, Japan. The date of my visit was on October 26th, 2024, cloudy and a bit chilly. On the sign at the spot says, “Fudōson is enshrined and two hundred and tens of stone buddha statues lie in the cave.” I did not count, but surely a multitude of stone buddha statues were placed from end to end in the cave. Okay, first off, I am going to share the pictures of “Itayama Cave Stone Buddha Statues.” taken from the inside of the cave.

Joetsu Aquarium Umigatari

Hello there! The other day I visited Umigatari, the aquarium in Joetsu city, Niigata prefecture. It was on August 3rd, 2024, sunny and hot. Since it was Saturday, the aquarium had a constant stream of visitors, and the parking lot was almost full, but I managed to park my car. I went into the building and proceeded along the path for a while and Magellanic Penguin Museum caught my eye. Umigatari boasts No.1 in Japan in the number of reared Magellanic penguins, being so rare that I couldn't wait to take a look at them! I was definitely enchanted by their adorable figures :D

Takada Castle Site Park

Hello there! I went to Takada Castle Site Park located in Joetsu city, Niigata prefecture. Because a lotus festival has been held in this park, I went there out of curiosity. It was August 3rd, 2024, sunny and hot. Since lotus flowers bloom only in the morning, many people came to this place in the morning in case they missed the golden time. Lotuses here in this park are said to rank first in Asia both in the scale and the beauty, and I was convinced by viewing them with my eyes that this is true. I could say "holy crap, it's too spacious! lol." It was so vast that I was overwhelmed. August in Japan is pretty hot and I just walked around the park for 30 minutes in case I got a heat stroke.
